Degeneration of popular music?

Undoubtedly, many of you know of the worldwide sensation of the teenager above, Justin Bieber. Can we take this, amongst other examples (Lady Gaga and the likes) to be actual musical talent? In the past, looking back 40 years or so, when there was no auto-tune or software enhancement, when the sound depended entirely on the musician's talent, we can say that he or she was talented beyond a reasonable doubt. In today's society however, anyone with a set amount of money can rent a studio, sing off key to a generic hip hop beat and simply bring their voice up to perfect pitch with technology. Ah, you may think then, but what of live performances? Surely the entire experience must be "real" then? Just last week, Scott Weiland of Velvet Revolver was performing in Cincinatti when, he slipped and fell into the crowd. Miraculously, he didnt even miss a beat, and kept singing throughout the ordeal. Miracle? I think not.
